Terms of Use

The ground rules for reading Dink & Carreau: what our words are (and aren't), and what you may do with them.

Last updated: September 2026.

Welcome to Dink & Carreau, a bilingual magazine about France and America, played through pétanque and pickleball. By reading this site, you agree to these terms. They’re short — like a good mène.

What this site is

Dink & Carreau publishes essays, cultural commentary, and entirely too many sports metaphors. Our comparisons between games and politics are allegory and entertainment, not professional advice — legal, financial, political, or otherwise. If a throw ever lands in real life, consult a professional, not a pétanque column.

What you may do with our content

The writing on this site belongs to Dink & Carreau. You are welcome to:

  • read, share links to, and quote brief excerpts of our articles, with attribution;
  • throw boules while reading (encouraged but at your own risk).

Please don’t republish our articles in full elsewhere without asking first. Write to us and we’ll almost certainly say yes with credit.

External content

Some pages carry a banner advertisement linking to an external site. We choose our advertisers, but we don’t control their sites — their terms and privacy policies apply once you click through.

The fine print, briefly

  • The site is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. We aim for accuracy and charm; we guarantee neither around the clock.
  • We may update or remove content at any time. The internet is a terrain — it shifts.
  • These terms may change; the current version always lives at this address.
